What is real happiness

"The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are, not who people think you are." -Goldie Hawn

Before getting into this topic let's take a second to answer ourselves. What does happiness mean to us? Does it mean having healthy relationships, or does it mean having all the riches, or does it mean living a life you have dreamt of or does it mean leading a humble life with your loved one?

Which one do you think is the real happiness for you?

We may tell ourselves right now that having a healthy relationship or leading a humble life with our loved ones is real happiness. But deep down we are all victims of materialistic things and fall prey to the fact of what people might think about us. And it all starts there.

The fear of what others might think about you and your lifestyle is the basic reason why we fail to find real happiness within ourselves.

In this rapidly evolving world, we are forced to believe that real happiness lies in money-oriented things. We have judged others by their looks and their lifestyle. Not only have we judged others, but we are also being judged by others, and if we don't accept this fact, it's hard for one to lead a life as you will be trying to impress others.

"True happiness is not found in materialistic things. It comes from the love & laughter found with the right people. Stay Humble." -Someone wiser than me.

I'm not saying that monetary things don't buy you happiness. Yes, they do buy you happiness, but the flip side is, if one can find happiness in being materialistic, then the other can also find happiness in way cheaper monetary things than you do.

And eventually, in the end, a person can always find happiness without being materialistic. It has always been the experience, the emotions, the quality time spent with the right person at the right moment or even during the worst moment

While reading these lines, think of the days we were kids, the days where you enjoyed the most, the days where you had no thoughts about what others might think. We being kids enjoyed our childhood and still, deep down we crave for those days to be back.

That was real happiness.

But why was that the real happiness?

Because we did not consider the opinions of others to decide our life. We did not let others make the decision for us. We did not worry "too much" about the consequences of our actions. At the same time, it doesn't mean that we have to kill the inner child in us for the fact that we got matured, for the fact that we got our responsibility. Let us nurture and nourish the inner child within us.

"Children are happy because they don't have a file in their minds called " All the things that would go wrong" -Marianne Williamson

Instead of wasting our time and efforts in finding our place of happiness, let's try not to worry "too" much about things that matter to us. Take a look back and you'll find yourself that you have worried too much about things at a certain point in time. Try not to worry about things that we can't control and things that don't matter to us.

I can't promise you happiness if you follow the above-said statement, but I can promise you that, you will not waste time worrying. No matter how big the problem is, just smile and move on. Nothing stays permanent, even worries.

And in our last days, when we think and reflect on the day being younger, it will always be the people with whom we shared our experiences, our life, and our emotions. The people around you reflect the values around you.

Always remember that, just like we bought nothing when we were born, we will take nothing with us when we are dead. No matter how big your house is, how new your car is, or how big your bank account is, Our graves will always be the same size.

Stay humble and respect your fellow being. Instead of running for a better place, try to make the place you stay a better place.

"Happiness does depend on what you have or who you are. It solely relies on what you think" -Buddha
